October was marked by strong S/SE winds and a noticeable decrease in water temperature – forcing surfers to put on their spring suits/neoprene vests to handle the wind chills with the long waits between sets.
Even the color of the water, usually cristal clear blue, changed to a tone of green and then brown with the big swells.
By the end of the month 2 large period swells hit the archipelago and we found good surfing conditions at the spots where S winds are favourable.
Usually at this time of the year we expect SSE winds to be fading away and conditions getting glassy, but this year because of this abnormal event we could only start to feel the decrease on the wind intensity now, at early November.
