October was marked by strong S/SE winds and a noticeable decrease in water temperature - forcing surfers to put on their spring suits/neoprene vests to handle the wind chills with the long waits between sets. Even the color of the water, usually cristal clear blue, changed to a tone of green and then brown with the big swells. By the end of the month 2 large period swells hit the archipelago and we found good surfing conditions at the spots where S winds are favourable. Usually at this time of the year we expect SSE winds to be fading away and conditions getting glassy, but this year because of this abnormal event we could only start to feel the decrease on the wind intensity now, at early November.
In September our vessels Star Koat2 and Moon Palikir split between the Banyaks and Mentawais archipelagos.
Back to back swells marked this month of many waves scored! Although the strong South wind prevailed, our experienced surf guides dodged it nicely and made sure everyone onboard got the best surf of their lives.
July as always was marked by the amount and intensity of swells. Check out the waves from South Mentawai to North Banyaks during this month!
It was a hard job selecting the photos from June trips from the hundreds of awesome images we had! But we did it, check it out...
Good waves all month long to please surfers from all type of skills, from beginners to chargers.
